I just wanted to give you a personal review of a in-game leveling addon by the company Zygor Guides. I have used quite a few different leveling guides since TBC and while I currently think Zygors guide is the best, I will do my best to be objective and tell you the things I like about the guide as well as the things I don’t like. So what we will be talking about in this Zygor Guides Review is obviously the 1-85 leveling guide, the professions leveling guide and lastly I’ll talk about the reputation, and achievements guide.
Zygor Guides 1-85 Leveling – Why is it the best?
Firstly, I’d like to say that all leveling addons are great for what they are worth (even questhelper), but the thing that puts Zygor’s ahead of the others is the ease of use. Also, it is clear in my mind that Zygor has the most resources to put into his addon. Other addons I’ve used claim to have quest tracking but in reality it doesn’t. They will track the quests as long as you are stay on the “leveling addon” but as soon as you switch to say a profession leveling part of the addon, it will totally forget what happened while you level. So now I have to sift through x amount of quests to get back on track. With Zygor’s addon you don’t have to worry about that and for the first time while using leveling addons I was shocked and happy at the same time.
Also, another problem that has came up with other addons and doesn’t happen with Zygor Guides (best to my knowledge) is waypoints being way off. I know while using other leveling addons I would follow the arrow to the right mark and then its like… Okay there is crap here for the quest I’m on.
The Bad:
The only aspect about the leveling addon that I don’t like is that it is pretty set and firm in following the guide and you’ll notice that sometimes you’ll be killing mobs that are “green” when you could definitely be somewhere else. This is especially true once you get into the higher levels and have BoA’s on.
Zygor Guides Profession Leveling Addon:
This addon is absolutely awesome! You get all of the professions with the cheapest way to level them. Not only that but it gives you lists of the products you’ll need in order to complete a section i.e. going from Grand Master to Illustrious. The waypoints for nodes are really good and they don’t disappear like other addons do, which makes it easy if you have to do more than one round of farming lol dur dur dur.
I found that it’s recommended amount of x item to be made was pretty spot on. I have used addons that would need to create at minimum 10 more of the same item. With Zygor guides you won’t have to worry about it because in his guide it will say up front you will need to make 5 more of these, etc.
The Bad:
The only thing I didn’t like about the professions part of the addon is that it assumes that you are level capped and have tons of gold to blow. Now that’s fine and dandy as gold is easy to make in WoW, but I’m the type of guy that doesn’t want to spend on it if I don’t have to. I think it would be better if they just assumed that you were fresh and had you farm for a lot of your stuff.
Zygor Guides Reputation and Achievements:
I haven’t had to much time with this part of the addon honestly because I am just not that big of a rep, achievement guy. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t, there are some cool achievements that I want to get through… Just need more time! lol!! So you will find that this part of the addon is just like any other in the fact that it takes you were you are from and tries to get you to the end as fast as possible.
Wish I had more to say on it… I will update in a month when I get a chance to go through it.
So that is it for my Zygor Guides review. You’ll find that you cannot go with this addon, and there are more modules that you can get as well; such as pets, dailies and more. There is no doubt in my mind that you will appreciate the level of quality in this addon. Trust me its tough being a noob and not leveling fast or just being behind!! Zygor guides is there to help and they definitely get my recommendation.
